Basics Bank Vouchers can be issued by Social workers, health workers, refuges, hostels, churches, job centres and benefit offices. If you are in desperate need of food ask one of these agencies if they will issue you with a voucher
If you are in a position where you have no money to purchase food for yourself or your children then please contact your local health worker and where appropriate, they will issue you with Basics Bank Food Vouchers.

Bournemouth & West Hampshire Water Plc, supported BB in 2008 with a £100 donation towards fixtures & fittings in the new building.

Donations of basic foods and hygiene items are always welcomed. If you are a retailer, manufacturer or wholesaler and wish to dispose of your end of line items, we would be pleased to accept them on behalf of the poor and needy.
There are often quite a few empty shelves that need stock.

Desmond Swayne MP
joined some Basics Bank volunteers recently in distributing food parcels to those local New Forest residents who needed the Bank's support!

He was updated on the building funds, how Basics Bank works, why it exists and the social service it provides to the local community.

The MP took time to view the plans of the new Basics Bank Distribution Centre, which is now located on land behind the recently refurbished Lymington URC and the Church's new community hall from where the Open Door Project operates.

His visit included time on site to see the progress on the newly refurbished URC plus the facilities the church/community hall will offer to all.

DID YOU KNOW...
you can offset the value of the goods you donate to charity, against your  business tax

Gifts of trading stock to a UK Charity
If you donate goods that your business makes or sells - your 'trading stock' - to a UK charity, you can claim the cost of these goods in your business accounts.
This applies whether you're a sole trader or in business as a partnership or company. You don't have to include anything in your sales income for the value of the gift.
